API reference / Common / Engine types / TextRegularRun

Interface: TextRegularRun

One text-showing operator — Tj, TJ, ' or " — of a TextObject, placed by its own text matrix.

A run's glyphs are stored as their original PDF encoding bytes in chunks — the render / save truth, untouched by import. Unicode and codepoint offsets (for selection / copy / search / editing) are a projection off those bytes via the font's ToUnicode, never stored.

nonstroking_style and stroking_style are always present even when text_style.render_mode indicates the run paints neither — preserving the gs state at the run gives round-trip emit the colors / line widths it needs and makes editor toggles like "turn on stroke" a one-line change.
